Citizen's Police Academy

The Bethany Police Department will be conducting a Citizen's Police Academy.  This will be a seven-week program designed to educate our citizens on the functions and capabilities of their police department.  All classes will be taught by our officers and will provide an excellent opportunity for building relationships within our community.

Classes begin on Monday, June 5, 2017 and run through Saturday, July 15, 2017.  Graduation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017.  Each class will be held at the Bethany Police Department on Monday evening, and will start at 6:30 p.m. and end at approximately 9:00 p.m.  On Saturday, July 15th, class will be held at the Bethany police firing range from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Due to space constraints, we must limit participants to 15 (fifteen).  Bethany residents, and those that work in Bethany, will be given the first opportunity to attend.  Those with criminal convictions, not including traffic offenses, will not be eligible to attend.

If you would like to attend, please complete and email the application page to Lt. Chris Culbreath at cculbreath@bethanypd.org or fax to his attention at (405) 789-5015.

Those who are unable to attend this session may apply for additional academy opportunities that will be offered in the future.
