PT Code Enforcement Officer

Description :

This position involves enforcement work in the inspection of all residential, commercial, and industrial properties; and in the review for compliance with City codes and regulations. This officer inspects residential, commercial, and industrial properties that need cleaning, clearing, alterations, or remodeling. Each property is inspected for safety and sanitation.

The officer enforces property maintenance codes, inspects structures for safety violations, and provides guidance to citizens on codes or general appearance questions. The officer receives general direction and supervision from the Community Development Director; but most work is carried out independently. The work is reviewed through written reports, conferences, and observation of departmental results obtained.

Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. and a valid Oklahoma Driver’s license and be insurable. Successful applicant must obtain and maintain Oklahoma Code Enforcement Association (OCEA) certification and International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) certification and have the ability to work as needed for call back and weekends.

The City of Bethany offers a generous benefit package including vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance options, life insurance and retirement. The hourly wage for this position is between $20.38 and $36.72 depending on experience.
